Austin Proper Hotel

My favorite hotel in Austin. Everything about this hotel is elevated. The service is excellent. The rooms are a great balance of modern, leaning towards swanky, but still warm. The restaurant and bar options are delicious- love Peacock and main bar is a vibe. The spa was an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Not a cheap stay by any means, however, this is the type of property where you get what you pay for. Overall, a feather in the cap!

My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Proper Austin on Christmas Eve, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and seated promptly by the attentive staff. The service provided by Shea, our server, was nothing short of superb. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was top-notch. She patiently answered all our questions, made excellent recommendations, and ensured that our glasses were never empty. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Proper Austin offers a delightful variety of options, and each dish we ordered was a true culinary masterpiece. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, every bite was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The presentation was also impeccable, showcasing the chef's attention to detail. Overall, our experience at Proper Austin exceeded our expectations.

Excellent experience. Definitely a happening place. The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfy, stylish, well appointed with high ceilings and large windows. Everything is automatic to the lights and shade but very intuitive to use. The area is great. Lots of restaurants within a block. Food at the hotel is excellent. Grocery store 2 blocks away. Enjoyed riding the electric bikes along the river. Pool was nice and warm.

This is a great hotel! Excellent location and vibes. Right now, the water in the city of Austin has an algae so tastes somewhat moldy. The cleaning crew threw away our bottled water. We ordered water from the room service and it was $12/each so check the prices ahead if you’re staying while the water is like this throughout the city. I was surprised that we didn’t receive free bottled water due to the smell. The staff is otherwise excellent and very welcoming!
